Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc is seeking a Landfill Environmental Technician to monitor water, leachate, and gas systems. You will apply environmental and engineering principles to operate and regulate landfill equipment for compliance with federal and state guidelines.

The role includes performing maintenance, recording readings, sampling environmental conditions, and ensuring daily operations meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School or Technical School Education and 1 year of experience minimum.
• Experience with energy recovery systems or similar equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs of landfill equipment and control systems.
• Complete daily reports of readings, data, and field observations.
• Conduct routine sampling and analysis of environmental conditions at the landfill.
• Maintain knowledge of state and USEPA rules related to landfill operations.
• Repair and maintain gas and leachate collection equipment.
• Attend health and safety meetings and follow regulations.
• Participate in training and other activities to support company goals.
