Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Landfill Environmental Technician to monitor water, leachate, and gas systems. You will apply environmental and engineering principles to test, regulate, and operate gas and leachate systems, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines.

The role includes hands-on maintenance and data reporting at the landfill site in New York. The position requires basic knowledge of SCADA, VFD, and environmental regulations, with opportunities for career growth

Qualifications

• High school or technical school education required.
• At least 1 year of experience with energy recovery systems or similar equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for 8 hours; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs of landfill equipment and control systems.
• Complete daily reports on readings, data interpretation, and field observations.
• Conduct routine sampling and analysis of environmental conditions; take corrective action when needed.
• Follow state and federal regulations (NY, VT, NH, ME, MA, PA; USEPA).
