Job summary

STV, Inc. in South Carolina seeks an experienced Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to support our Field Services & CEI operations. You will lead surveys on highway and bridge projects, mentor staff, and ensure QA/QC from kickoff to delivery.

Requirements include SC PLS licensure, 4+ years of surveying experience, and proficiency with Microstation, OpenRoads, Civil 3D, Trimble B.Center, Carlson Survey and MS Office; valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• State licensure as Professional Land Surveyor in South Carolina required.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant surveying experience.
• Experience reviewing survey data and producing certified documents.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead survey tasks on multiple projects from kickoff to delivery.
• Mentor survey staff and develop scopes of work and fees.
• Perform QA/QC to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Position Overview

STV is experiencing tremendous growth and seeks an experienced Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) for its South Carolina Field Services & CEI operation.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Professional Land Surveyor must possess working experience with municipalities, counties, SCDOT, and private developers.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant surveying experience.
• Review the accuracy of all survey data collected by technicians, including site plans, charts, plats, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
• Sign and seal survey documents and assist in developing procedures, systems, and methods for project delivery.
• Lead the survey task on multiple projects, mentor survey staff, prepare scopes of work and fees, and provide quality assurance/quality control.
• Must be registered in the State of South Carolina, with strong knowledge in boundary analysis and resolution, topographic, and construction surveys.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal skills are required.
• Ability to lead a successful project (on time, under budget, and accurate) from kickoff to delivery while maintaining client satisfaction.
• Technical capabilities should include proficiency with Microstation, OpenRoads, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center and/or Carlson Survey, and Microsoft Office products.
• Successful candidate will supervise and lead construction verification surveys on state highway and bridge construction projects.
• Valid Driver License is required.

Additional Qualifications and Preferred Experience

• Registration in multiple states is a plus.
• Experience with Level B SUE and Utility Test Holes is a plus.
• Transportation Alternative Delivery Experience is a plus.
• Remote Pilot Certification is a plus.
• Experience with LiDAR technology or traditional photogrammetry is a plus.
• Previous experience developing survey deliverables compliant with SCDOT's Pre-Construction Survey Manual is a plus. NCDOT or GDOT experience is a plus.

Compensation Range

$55,709.00 – $63,305.00
