Job summary

LVI Associates seeks a Survey Manager to lead the surveying and geomatics division in South Carolina. The role combines team leadership, project delivery, client development, and business growth within a growing multi-disciplinary engineering and consulting firm.

The ideal candidate holds a South Carolina PLS license, has 5+ years of leadership in surveying, and demonstrates expertise with Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

  • Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in South Carolina is required.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing surveying operations, preferably in residential and commercial land development.
  • Strong technical expertise with Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, survey computations, plat preparation, and field survey methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the surveying and geomatics division, including field crews and office staff.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise survey operations to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
  • Manage client relationships and serve as primary contact for development projects.
  • Administer contracts, oversee schedules, and coordinate resources to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Develop and execute business development initiatives and market growth plans.
  • Review deliverables, proposals, and financial performance; monitor metrics.
  • Mentor staff and promote safety and continuous improvement.

Job description

We are partnered with a leading multi-disciplinary engineering and consulting firm that continues to expand its presence across the Southeast. With a strong reputation in civil engineering, surveying, planning, environmental services, and construction support, this organization is seeking a Survey Manager to lead and grow its surveying operations in South Carolina. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed survey professional who enjoys balancing team leadership, project delivery, client development, and business growth within a well-established and growing organization.

The Survey Manager will be responsible for:
  • Leading all aspects of a surveying and geomatics division, including multiple field crews, office personnel, and technical staff.
  • Planning, organizing, and supervising survey operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and successful project delivery.
  • Managing client relationships and serving as a key point of contact for public and private sector development projects.
  • Administering contracts, overseeing project schedules, and coordinating resources to meet deadlines and financial objectives.
  • Developing and executing business development initiatives, client pursuit strategies, and market growth plans.
  • Reviewing survey deliverables, proposals, monthly billing, financial performance, and operational metrics.
  • Mentoring and developing staff while promoting technical excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across the team.
The Survey Manager should have the following qualifications:
  • Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in South Carolina is required.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing surveying operations, preferably within residential and commercial land development.
  • Strong technical expertise with Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, survey computations, plat preparation, and field survey methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing Trimble survey equipment, GPS technology, and survey data management platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, lead teams, oversee budgets, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and business development skills.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check, drug screening, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
