Atlas Surveying, Inc. is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Charleston, SC. A valid South Carolina PLS license is required, along with five years of post-licensure experience and proficiency in boundary and ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and As-Builts.

The role involves day-to-day coordination of work, supervision of field crews, and strategic planning for contracts and subcontracts. Opportunities for advancement exist within the firm.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in South Carolina.
• Five years of land surveying post-licensure experience.
• Knowledge of GPS and data-collection devices.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and standards.
• Continued professional education to maintain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day survey work and supervise field crews.
• Plan projects, set objectives, costs and asset use.
• Respond to client inquiries and coordinate with authorities.
• Assemble field data, perform calculations, and prepare legal descriptions.
• Provide quality control and assurance on project deliverables.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets and client billing.
• Approve and seal surveying documents and certifications.

Atlas Surveying, Inc. is an industry-leading professional land surveying firm with offices in the Savannah/Hilton Head, Charleston, Charlotte, and Greenville/Spartanburg areas. We use conventional tools, robots, and drones to conduct surveys, perform certifications, and provide real-time GPS and aerial mapping. We serve a client base of real estate developers and construction companies, as well as architectural and engineering firms.

Atlas Surveying, Inc. is accepting resumes for the position of Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the CHARLESTON, SC office.

A CURRENT PLS LICENSE IN SOUTH CAROLINA IS REQUIRED.

This position provides day-to-day coordination of work and supervision of the survey staff and field crews. This position also requires strategic planning and the ability to negotiate, market, develop, and implement contracts and or subcontracts for survey services. To include but not limited to; topographic, boundary, and ALTA surveys, As-Builts, platting and construction layouts, Metes and Bounds Descriptions. The position is required to learn and be proficient in office practices, standards and various software programs. Must be dependable, team and goal oriented, client focused and forthright in resolving issues. Positions of advancement within the company are available.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Preparation of boundary surveys.
• Establish objectives/goals, costs and maximum use of assets relating to projects.
• Responds to inquiries from clients, local and municipal authorities.
• Assemble field data, perform survey calculations, and prepare legal descriptions.
• Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work.

Qualifications & Key Skills:

• Licensed in the state ofSOUTH CAROLINA is REQUIRED.
• Additional State Licensing, including NC, GA and FL are a plus.
• Five years of land survey post-licensure experience required.
• Knowledge in use of GPS and electronic data collectors and monitors.
• Proficient in OSHA/Safety regulations.
• Up-to-Date knowledge of public agency codes, processes and standards.
• Must maintain continuing education requirement for licensure.
