Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Land Intern to provide hands-on experience across departments with rotations through various functions in land development and related areas.

The program exposes students to the homebuilding process, professional development, and potential career opportunities within D.R. Horton and affiliated businesses. Interns gain exposure to field, office, and project-based activities, supporting operations, research, reporting, and administrative tasks while developing

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college and entering junior or senior year or recently graduated.
• Pursuing a degree related to the internship area (business, technology, finance, construction, real estate, HR, marketing, operations).
• Demonstrated interest in opportunities within D.R. Horton business functions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations within the assigned department, division, office, field location, jobsite, or business function.
• Assist with department-specific projects, research, reporting, administrative activities, coordination efforts, systems, processes, and other business needs.
• Learn and apply departmental responsibilities, industry terminology, business systems, company policies, safety requirements, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand how various areas support homebuilding, homebuying, operations, and customer experience.
• Participate in training programs, meetings, rotations, and other learning opportunities.
• Explore career opportunities within D.R. Horton and affiliated businesses that may lead to future full-time employment after graduation.
• Conduct all business professionally, ethically, and respectfully to support customers and the company’s reputation.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Ability to travel including occasional overnight travel.
