Job summary

D.R. Horton invites motivated students to join the Land Intern program, designed to provide hands‑on experience across departments in homebuilding and land development.

Interns gain exposure to operations, research, and project work in a dynamic environment, with rotations and mentoring to prepare for future full‑time opportunities. Participants will learn company policies, safety requirements, and industry terminology while supporting daily activities on the jobsite and office locations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited four‑year college or university and entering junior or senior year, or recently graduated
• Pursuing a degree or coursework related to the assigned internship area (business, finance, construction, real estate, etc.)
• Demonstrated interest in learning about career opportunities within homebuilding, financial services, land development, corporate operations, or other D.R. Horton business functions
• Strong willingness to learn, take initiative, ask questions, and contribute in a professional team environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with team members, customers, and business partners
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to learn new software as needed
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to adapt to varying work environments (office, field, jobsite, corporate, remote, or hybrid)
• Physical requirements vary by assignment and may include travel or jobsite exposure

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations within the assigned department, division, office, field location, jobsite, or business function
• Assist with department‑specific projects, research, reporting, and administrative activities
• Learn and apply departmental responsibilities, industry terminology, and company policies
• Collaborate with team members and cross‑functional departments to understand how areas support the customer experience
• Participate in training programs, meetings, and departmental rotations
• Explore opportunities within D.R. Horton and affiliated businesses for potential full‑time employment after graduation
• Conduct business professionally, ethically, and respectfully to support customers and the company’s reputation
• Ability to work overtime
• Ability to travel including occasional overnight travel
