Job summary

D.R. Horton invites applications for the Summer 2027 Land Intern position. This program provides hands-on experience across departments, with rotations through land development, operations, and business support to understand homebuilding and the customer journey.

Interns gain exposure to project work, administrative support, and field-based activities, with opportunities for professional development and potential future full-time employment after graduation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university and entering junior or senior year, or recently graduated.
• Pursuing a degree related to the internship area (business, technology, finance, construction, real estate, etc.).
• Interest in opportunities within homebuilding, financial services, land development, or related fields.
• Strong willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to interact with team, customers, and partners.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations within the assigned department, division, or jobsite.
• Assist with department projects, research, reporting, and administrative activities.
• Learn and apply department responsibilities, systems, policies, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand company operations and customer experience.
• Participate in training programs, rotations, and other learning opportunities.
• Explore future full-time opportunities after graduation.
