Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. in Albany, NY is seeking a Land Development Engineer to join our Land Development Team.

You will deliver design for site layouts, grading, drainage, and utilities, coordinating with planners, engineers, and stakeholders to meet client goals and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, at least 3 years of civil site design experience, and an EIT certification; a PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of civil site design experience.
• EIT certification required; PE license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures and regulatory standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete engineering design, technical analysis, and preparation of plans, specifications, and reports for land development projects including site layout, grading, drainage, and utility infrastructure
• Develop design calculations, technical memorandums, and construction documents under the guidance of senior engineers or technical leadership
• Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, applying standard engineering practices, local development codes, and permitting requirements
• Monitor project progress and coordinate design efforts to support schedules, budgets, and constructability
• Take responsibility for significant portions of land development projects with oversight from senior staff or management, including coordination with survey, environmental, and permitting efforts
