Job summary

Core States Group in Frisco, TX seeks a Civil Engineering Designer student to join our team onsite and help bring land development projects from concept to construction. Apply Civil Engineering concepts, assist with design, and gain practical experience.

You will work with Civil 3D and AutoCAD, coordinate with stakeholders, and contribute to detailed reports and presentations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a Senior, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in Winter 2026 or Spring 2027
• EIT is a plus but not required
• Experience working with Civil 3D and AutoCAD software is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools to improve team processes, support better decisions, and increase efficiency
• Demonstrated ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy, protect confidential information, and remain responsible for the final work product

Responsibilities

• Apply civil engineering concepts to develop solutions to project challenges
• Preparation of construction plans, cost estimates, reports, and other project documents
• Coordination with review agencies, clients, and sub-consultants for permit application
• Preparation of grading plans, profiles, road design, and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Research regulatory requirements and design standards
• Perform detailed and complex calculations for storm water facilities, utility systems, and roadway improvements
• Preparation of detailed technical reports and project presentation materials
• Assist project engineers in completing projects in a timely manner and within project budgets
• Attend project meetings
