Job summary

Core States Group in Kent, WA is seeking an ambitious Civil Engineering Designer student to join our land development team and help take projects from concept to construction. This onsite role provides real-world experience and the chance to contribute to growing communities.

You’ll work with Civil 3D and AutoCAD, prepare construction plans, estimates, and reports, and coordinate with agencies and sub-consultants. Senior year students graduating Winter 2026 or Spring 2027 are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Senior in Civil Engineering graduating Winter 2026 or Spring 2027.
• EIT is a plus but not required.
• Experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify practical uses for AI tools to improve team processes.
• Able to review AI-generated content for accuracy and protect confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Apply civil engineering concepts to develop solutions to project challenges.
• Preparation of construction plans, cost estimates, reports, and other project documents.
• Coordination with review agencies, clients, and sub-consultants for permit application.
• Preparation of grading plans, profiles, road design, and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Research regulatory requirements and design standards.
• Perform detailed calculations for storm water facilities, utilities, and roadways.
• Prepare technical reports and presentation materials.
• Assist project engineers to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Attend project meetings.
