Job summary

Core States Group in Roseville, CA is seeking a Civil Engineering Designer student to join our collaborative team, helping land development projects from concept to construction. You will apply civil engineering concepts, develop construction plans, and coordinate with agencies to keep projects moving forward.

You will gain practical design experience in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to work onsite at our Roseville office and other California locations, while pursuing your degree

Qualifications

• Senior currently enrolled, graduating Winter 2026 or Spring 2027.
• EIT is a plus but not required.
• Experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Apply civil engineering concepts to develop solutions for project challenges.
• Prepare construction plans, cost estimates, reports, and other project documents.
• Coordinate with review agencies, clients, and sub-consultants for permit applications.
• Prepare grading plans, profiles, road design, and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Research regulatory requirements and design standards.
• Perform calculations for storm water facilities, utilities, and road improvements.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and project presentation materials.
• Assist project engineers to complete projects on time and within budgets.
