Job summary

Bohler’s Bowie, MD office, serving the DMV area, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Land Development) eager to advance in civil engineering. You will partner with Project Managers and cross-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative land development solutions.

You’ll grow as both an engineer and a leader, supporting project delivery, collaborating with clients and municipalities, and contributing to Bohler’s reputation for technical excellence. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of site design and jurisdictional permitting experience for residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and drainage software such as StormCAD, Hydroflow, or HydroCAD; skilled in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
• Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
• Experience working directly with clients and project teams.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support project management activities, including project scoping, proposals, schedules, and resource planning.
• Oversee preparation of comprehensive site plan packages—grading, stormwater management, utility design, and erosion and sediment control.
• Coordinate permitting and entitlement approval processes with clients, municipalities, and agencies.
• Prepare contracts, change orders, and client invoices while tracking financial performance.
• Collaborate with clients, attorneys, contractors, and subconsultants to ensure project success.
• Review concept drawings and cost estimates aligned with client objectives.
• Participate in public hearings, community meetings, and professional organizations.
• Mentor junior staff and share technical knowledge to promote team growth.
