Job summary

Weekley Homes L.P. in Minneapolis seeks a Land Coordinator to support our Land Acquisition team, guiding communities from entitlement through vertical construction.

You will work with the VP of Land and division leaders on due diligence, site analysis, HOA coordination, contracts, and records management, while keeping milestones on track and communicating across departments. Strong Excel, project tracking, and the ability to read deeds, plats, HOA documents, and closing statements are essential

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field.
• Knowledge of residential plans and land development construction drawings.
• Real estate development or homebuilding experience preferred.
• Able to learn software quickly; MLS and Zonda preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Smart Sheets, and Microsoft Projects.
• Experience reading deeds, plats, HOA documents, contracts, and closing statements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Land Acquisition and Entitlement Managers with procurement of due diligence work and paperwork for vendors and executives.
• Support land team with community planning, site analysis, yield studies, land planning, landscape design, signage, and open space planning.
• Act as Land Team representative to transition communities to vertical construction post development.
• Coordinate HOA documents and liaise with Legal Counsel and Association Management Companies.
• Assist with vendor setup, invoice processing, and draw submittal approvals.
• Track deadlines across multiple projects and milestones.
• Monitor lot takedown requirements with Division managers and corporate land team.
• Facilitate contracts with third parties and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate communication across departments and disseminate updates.
• Maintain spreadsheets for tracking and ensure projects stay on track through completion.

Job description

David Weekley Homes, a progressive leader in the homebuilding industryand nationally recognized for award-winning designs, is seeking a qualified Land Coordinator to join our Minneapolis-St. Paul Land Team. We are looking for someone with an enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic, who has a passion for residential home constructionto share in our success!

This person will assist our VP of Land, Division President, and Land Acquisition Team with a variety of pivotal tasks and requires a reliable, self-starting individual who can work independently.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist Land Acquisition and Entitlement Managers with procurement of due diligence work as well as requesting and preparing all necessary paperwork for vendors and company executives
• Assist the land team with community planning process, including site analysis, yield studies, land planning, landscape design, signage, and monumentation, amenity programming and planning, and common open space planning.
• Act as the Land Team representative to transition all communities to vertical construction post development
• Act as the company respresentative for all HOA matters including communicating with Legal Council to create HOA Governing Documents, and coordinate with Association Management Companies to establish Proformas,participate on HOA boardsfor each community.
• Assist with vendor set up, invoice processing, and approval of draw submittals for land acquisition, land entitlements, and land development vendors
• Track and manage deadlines on multiple projects and milestones
• Track and manage lot takedown requirements with local Division managers and the corporate land team
• Facilitate agreements and contracts with third parties and maintain accurate records
• Facilitate communication with multiple departments within the company
• Maintain spreadsheets for tracking purposes and regularly disseminate information to multiple people inside and outside the organization, as well as following up as needed to ensure each project stays on track through completion
• Maintaining general records and other assignments as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field.
• Knowledge of residential plans and land development construction drawings
• Real estate development or homebuilding experience preferred
• Must be able to learn software quickly in order to conduct market research and analysis. Prior use of MLS and Zonda preferred
• Highly proficient in MS Excel, including the ability to use various tools for tracking and timelines along with general MS Office proficiency, Smart Sheets, and Microsoft Projects
• Experience reading and comprehending legal real estate legal documents like deeds, plats, HOA documents, contracts, and closing statements preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong active listening skills
• Proven attention to detail and organization
• Ability to follow-up on a variety of tasks simultaneously and switch from task to task while maintaining focus and priority
• Should demonstrate a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and high level of integrity
