Bay Insulation Systems of Connecticut is seeking a Machine Operator to safely set up and run laminators and band saws, ensuring efficient production flow and adherence to customer specifications. You will maintain production records and support material handling, with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, forklift certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year in manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling preferred.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
• Experience with fiberglass insulation, facing materials, or metal building insulation manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with inventory management systems.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate laminators and band saws per safety and quality standards.
• Perform daily machine safety inspections and safety checklists.
• Set up machines, adjust glue tab alignment, and run speeds as required.
• Maintain production records: quantities, waste, downtime, and inventory movements.
• Support material handling, loading/unloading, and order fulfillment.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of raw and finished goods.
• Contribute to changeovers and ensure materials are staged for orders.
• Conduct quality checks and document audit results.
