Job summary

Bay Converting Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to ensure efficient production flow in the metal building insulation laminating operation. You will safely set up and operate laminators and band saws, interpret work instructions, and lead General Laborers during setup.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling operations preferred.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
• Experience with fiberglass insulation, facing materials, or metal building insulation manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with inventory management systems.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely perform duties in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate laminators and band saws following safety and quality standards.
• Perform daily machine safety inspections and complete safety checklists.
• Conduct preventative maintenance per schedule.
• Set up machines with glue tab alignment, compression settings, glue and tape application, and run speed adjustments.
• Maintain accurate production records including quantities produced, waste, and downtime.
• Oversee material handling and production flow, loading/unloading as needed.
• Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipments per customer and carrier requirements.
• Maintain inventory records and record all material movements in the ERP system.
