Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer I responsible for preparation, handling, and supplying materials on construction sites. The role involves loading/unloading, erecting scaffolding, leveling ground, tending mortar, and moving concrete and debris.

You will work with a diverse team to support skilled trades and ensure on-site efficiency. The position requires a two-year apprenticeship and comfort with power and non-powered tools, plus physical work (lifting up to 50 lbs).

Qualifications

• Two-year apprenticeship completed.
• Experience in construction preferred.
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer I that will be responsible for the preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend mortar and grout
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have completed a two (2) year apprenticeship
• Experience in construction preferred
