Mortenson Construction is accepting applications for a Laborer in Albuquerque, NM. The role involves preparing, handling, and supplying materials for other crafts on a construction site.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, scaffolding setup, ground leveling, mortar handling, and concrete placement. Candidates should have a two-year apprenticeship and construction experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completed a two-year apprenticeship.
• Construction experience preferred.
• Ability to operate tools and equipment such as vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
• Strong teamwork orientation with a positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
• Repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements; lift up to 50 lbs.

Job description

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer that will be responsible for the preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend mortar and grout
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have completed a two (2) year apprenticeship
• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
