The Division of Administration/Louisiana Property Assistance Agency has a vacancy for a Laborer/Levee Inspector with an assigned pay grade of WS-203.
This vacancy may be filled by job appointment, which is temporary in nature not to exceed 48 months. If filled as a job appointment, the position may be converted to a probational appointment provided a vacant position becomes available and funding is available.
Preference will be given to those with prior warehouse and forklift operation experience.

Differs from other unskilled jobs by close supervision required in most tasks. Tasks include cutting grass, weeds, trees, and brush; cleaning culverts, drains, and ditches; moving materials; removing obstructions; hauling supplies; applying patching materials; operating a tractor; watering livestock; washing livestock quarters; directing traffic; assisting skilled workers; digging holes; mowing lawns; trimming shrubs; raking grass; performing nursery and ground work; inspecting levees; policing levees; supervising emergency repairs; checking construction compliance; monitoring high water stages; and directing drainage and sacking operations.
