Job summary

Jhpiego is seeking a Laboratory Technical Advisor to lead efforts strengthening Liberia's laboratory systems, including specimen transport and LQMS. The role partners with MOH, NRL, NPHIL, and counties to improve quality, diagnostics, and referral networks.

Strong leadership, mentorship, and capacity-building skills are essential for sustainable impact. The Senior Advisor will guide standardization, governance, and reporting efforts, ensuring government ownership and alignment with donor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• 7–8 years in laboratory systems strengthening or related public health programs.
• Experience with LQMS, QA, QC, and CQI activities.
• Experience collaborating with government lab systems and donors.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to strengthen specimen collection, transport, and result reporting.
• Develop and monitor SOPs, quality manuals, indicators, and corrective action plans.
• Mentor laboratory personnel and government counterparts.
• Support capacity-building plans and tools for lab performance.
