Job summary

FHI 360's Laboratory and Diagnostics Advisor leads the technical design, implementation, and governance of STRIDES’ laboratory and diagnostic systems portfolio to strengthen national capacities for outbreak response. You guide biosafety, quality systems, and workforce development while coordinating with ministries of health and reference laboratories.

Qualifications

Fluent English; strong technical writing and communication skills.
8+ years of relevant experience in implementing large-scale laboratory systems, networks, and diagnostics programs.
Master’s Degree or International equivalent in Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Public Health or a related field.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of laboratory and diagnostic components of STRIDES projects, ensuring alignment with national priorities and international standards.
Oversee laboratory readiness assessments, deployment of diagnostic platforms, and optimization of testing workflows.
Coordinate with ministries of health, national public health institutes, reference laboratories, and partners to ensure coordinated laboratory system strengthening.
Develop tools, guidance, and job aids to support laboratory readiness, diagnostic algorithms, and quality systems strengthening.
