Job summary

Corus International seeks a Director, Technical Services, Laboratory to lead laboratory systems strengthening and diagnostic services in support of MIHR across DRC and other African countries.

The role combines strategic direction with hands‑on technical oversight, ensuring alignment with national policies and international standards while coordinating with MoH, INSP, and partners in a hybrid Washington, DC setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in medical laboratory sciences or related field is required.
• MD/PhD or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience with international health programs and USG-funded initiatives is preferred.
• Must have US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for laboratory services supporting priority infectious diseases.
• Develop annual workplans to strengthen laboratory systems in partner countries.
• Advise on lab policies, standards, and operational guidelines with MoH and national institutes.
• Support biosafety, quality management, and laboratory network strengthening.
• Contribute to outbreak preparedness, surveillance, and response activities.

Education

Master's degree in medical laboratory sciences, Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, Molecular Biology, Clinical Pathology, or a related field

MD, PhD, or equivalent advanced qualification preferred

Experience supporting Ministries of Health in fragile or emergency settings

Experience with USG-funded programs and international health projects

Fluent in English; French an added advantage
