Job summary

Corus International seeks a Director, Technical Services, Laboratory to lead strategic laboratory operations across major infectious disease programs. The role focuses on strengthening national systems, quality management, and outbreak preparedness within the MIHR project, often collaborating with ministries of health and international partners.

The position is hybrid in Washington, DC, with two in-office days weekly.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in medical laboratory sciences or related field plus 8+ years of experience.
• MD/PhD or equivalent preferred for senior leadership.
• Experience supporting MoH in fragile or emergency settings and with USG-funded programs.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 15189, SLIPTA, and laboratory QA/QC.
• Fluent English; French an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for laboratory functions across multiple diseases.
• Strengthen national and provincial laboratory networks and QA systems.
• Develop and deliver capacity-building programs for ministry staff and partners.
• Lead outbreak preparedness, surveillance integration, and data-driven decision-making.
• Engage stakeholders and coordinate with donors and partners at regional/global levels.
• Ensure biosafety, biosecurity, and waste management compliance.
