UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in La Grange, IL, is seeking a Laboratory Services Leader responsible for coordinating phlebotomy operations, improving performance, and supporting staff through scheduling and training. This full-time, day shift role requires strong regulatory knowledge and a focus on patient safety.

Lead pre-analytical activities, oversee equipment, participate in committees, and mentor team members while ensuring compliance with safety policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related laboratory experience.
• 1+ years of leadership/management experience (preferred).
• Up-to-date phlebotomy practice knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Participates in performance improvement activities, resolves customer service issues, evaluates new equipment and procedures, and monitors staff performance.
• Assists department leadership with staffing, interviewing, orientation, training, coaching, mentoring, and competency assessment.
• Coordinates and facilitates the clinical experience of students in affiliated education programs.
• Leads and participates in laboratory performance improvement activities, promoting team building, employee engagement, patient satisfaction, and safety.
• Performs and oversees pre-analytical laboratory activities, including equipment maintenance, inventory control, specimen collection, processing, and cleaning.
• Supports staff through effective scheduling, workload assignments, troubleshooting, and motivation to achieve high performance.
