• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; CLIA equivalency may apply.
• 1+ year of leadership experience
• 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience
• MLS (ASCP or AMT) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
• Licenses and Certifications: MLS required; BLS preferred

Responsibilities

• Follows safety policies including PPE usage, proper waste handling, and required training.
• Provides orientation and training to new staff and students.
• Leads quality improvement and safety initiatives across the laboratory.
• Manages budgeting, department metrics, goals, and labor productivity.
• Oversees staff scheduling and ensures adequate coverage.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CLIA, OSHA, CAP).
• Represents the laboratory in leadership meetings and manages staff performance evaluations.
