Job summary

Simple Laboratories in the Chicago area seeks an experienced Hospital Laboratory Manager to oversee operations, administration, and quality across inpatient and outpatient services. You will lead a diverse team of technicians, phlebotomists, lab associates and researchers, ensuring accurate, timely diagnostic testing while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
• Master's degree or higher in a scientific discipline.
• ASCP, AMT certified or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years hospital laboratory experience.
• Minimum 4 years management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring safety and protocols.
• Coordinate operations across chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunology, molecular diagnostics.
• Liaise between hospital, lab, clinical staff, nursing and external partners.
• Lead a team of technicians, phlebotomists, lab associates and researchers across shifts.
• Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, workflows, and documentation.
• Ensure timely, accurate test results to support clinical decisions.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, arranging repairs as needed.
• Monitor regulatory compliance and quality standards.
