Job summary

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Research Campus in Ashburn, VA, is seeking a Site Supply Technician to provide lab and administrative support across Shipping/Receiving, Mailroom, and Glasswash. You will coordinate tasks, enter department data, and support coverage while adhering to HHMI policies.

An ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 1–2 years of related experience, and comfort with repetitive tasks in a science setting. Strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years related experience preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory supplies and experience in Life Sciences preferred.
• Customer-centric approach and ability to collaborate in a diverse research environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide lab and administrative support across Site Supply and Service functions.
• Execute shipping/receiving, mailroom, and glasswash duties; ensure package processing and regulatory compliance.
• Support data entry of department statistics and coverage planning.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers and leadership.
• Assist with Hazmat certifications and adherence to safety policies.
