Job summary

Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) is seeking a Site Supply Technician to support laboratory and administrative operations across Shipping/Receiving, Mailroom, and Glasswash. You will perform data entry, coordinate tasks, and ensure compliance with HHMI policies while delivering reliable service to researchers and staff.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, attention to detail, and following SOPs. You will handle package processing, mail, glassware washing, Hazmat training, and coverage

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1-2 years related experience preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory supplies and experience in Life Sciences or a laboratory setting preferred.
• Ability to work in a diverse research environment with a customer-centric approach.
• Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication.
• General working knowledge of hazardous materials and the ability to identify and segregate controlled substances.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work occasional weekends and/or holidays and be flexible with work hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Execute a high level of customer service in each of the Site Supply and Service functions, including Shipping/Receiving, Mailroom, and Glasswash.
• Assist with department coverage plans.
• Possess Hazmat Air Shipper (IATA/49) and Hazmat Ground Shipper (DOT) Certifications.
• Conveys positivity and exhibits professionalism when dealing with customers, colleagues, and management.
• Attend and contribute to regularly scheduled group meetings.
• Cooperate with contractors and staff and manage requests from administrative and scientific staff.
