Job summary

Mérieux NutriSciences - North America in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Sample Receiving Technician to log samples, assign test codes, and release samples to operations for analysis. You will prepare documentation, contact clients for missing details, and ensure sample integrity throughout the process.

The role requires an associates degree with 1+ year in a related field or a Bachelor's degree, plus familiarity with lab information systems and standard office skills.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 1+ year relevant work experience or a Bachelor's degree.
• Basic knowledge of computer operations to enter incoming sample information into the LIMS.
• Basic knowledge of microbiology and chemistry is helpful for proper coding of samples and tests.
• Strong written and oral communication for obtaining and clarifying test instructions with clients.

Responsibilities

• Receive and log in samples for analysis and assign an identification number in LIMS.
• Contact clients to obtain missing information to ensure correct test codes and sample contents.
• Store samples safely and maintain sample integrity until analysis is completed.
• Prepare packages for shipping and document related procedures; handle shipments to other facilities when needed.
• Assist in developing customized client reports by collecting and analyzing data.
