Job summary

UVM Health is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operation of the Laboratory at the Ticonderoga and Elizabethtown locations. You will manage personnel, set goals, input budgets, teach staff, and ensure outstanding customer service, while coordinating with the Medical Director and Technical staff.

The role requires strong leadership, cost control, and adherence to NYS regulations. Experience with LIS and hospital-based labs is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology (hospital-based formal internship required).
• ASCP, NCA or equivalent certification is highly recommended.
• Meets minimum requirements for laboratory supervisor as described in NYS Dept. of Health regulations 58-2.4
• NYSED License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the Laboratory and personnel management.
• Set goals, budget input, and cost management.
• Provide teaching and staff development.
• Ensure clear communication and outstanding customer service.
• Manage test processes and policies and procedures.
• Maintain LIS and collaborate with Medical Director and Technical staff.
