Job summary

UVM Health is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operation of the Laboratory at the Ticonderoga and Elizabethtown locations. You will manage personnel, set goals, input budgets, teach staff, and ensure outstanding customer service, while coordinating with the Medical Director and Technical staff.

The role requires strong leadership, cost control, and adherence to NYS regulations. Experience with LIS and hospital-based labs is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology (hospital-based formal internship required).
• ASCP, NCA or equivalent certification is highly recommended.
• Meets minimum requirements for laboratory supervisor as described in NYS Dept. of Health regulations 58-2.4
• NYSED License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (preferred).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the Laboratory. Responsibilities include personnel management, goal setting, budget input, teaching, communication, test management, policies and procedure management, cost management, LIS maintenance, staff development and outstanding customer service skills. As part of the management team, works collaboratively with Technical staff, and frequently works with and coordinates activities with the Medical Director.

This position equally covers both the Ticonderoga and Elizabethtown locations.

EDUCATON:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology (hospital-based formal internship required)
