Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Manager Laboratory for the Wexford Hospital to oversee laboratory operations, budgets, quality assurance, and HR activities. The role may also cover Technologist duties to meet staffing needs and maintain high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include updating procedures, guiding staff, hiring and performance management, and exploring new technologies to boost productivity and ensure cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree ASCP eligible or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years in a clinical laboratory role.
• For Anatomical Pathology domains: CT/CG/HTL/PA ASCP certifications or equivalent.
• For Clinical Pathology: MLT/MT/MLS ASCP/AMT/AAB certifications.
• Histocompatibility: BS in Medical Technology or Life Sciences.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to staff to ensure quality patient care and compliance with standards.
• Oversees development and revision of procedure manuals; signs procedures yearly.
• Manages hiring, evaluation, coaching, promotion, and HR processes per policy.
• Prepares and maintains budgets with cost-efficiency focus.
• Investigates modern technologies to improve staff productivity and quality.
• May oversee outreach programs or function as Technologist as needed.
