Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Pharmacy leader to assist the Pharmacy Manager and Director of Pharmacy in directing services and supervising staff. You will perform pharmacist duties as needed and collaborate with medical teams to support optimal patient care.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, budget awareness, and staff development while maintaining quality pharmacy operations across the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in PA and/or NY within 120 days.
• Minimum 3 years pharmacy experience or completion of a 2-year administrative pharmacy residency.

Responsibilities

• Supervises day-to-day services including drug distribution, education, pharmacist clinical activities, inventory management and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinates pharmacy patient care services with nurses and physicians to resolve clinical or drug distribution issues.
• Assists with development, implementation, administration and enforcement of hospital policies and procedures; participates in performance improvement and regulatory compliance.
• Assists with personnel activities including interviewing, orientation, staffing, corrective action, competencies and performance appraisals; prepares staff schedules.
• Supervises departmental personnel and operational practices to ensure regulatory compliance; monitors controlled drugs per state and federal regulations; conducts audits.
• Assists with monitoring financial parameters and operating within budget targets; helps design and evaluate systems to improve quality and cost effectiveness.
• Performs staff pharmacist duties as necessary and other duties as assigned.
