Job summary

Georgia State University seeks a Laboratory Coordinator at the Decatur Campus to manage daily lab operations, safety, and instructional support. The role includes teaching labs, coordinating schedules, procuring supplies, and supervising student workers to ensure laboratories are ready for classes.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's in Biology, lab equipment experience, and the ability to train staff while collaborating with faculty and students on a busy campus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Biology and college teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with setting up, maintaining and using various lab equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and communicate with supervisors.
• Master's degree and Microbiology preferred.
• Knowledge of lab tools, equipment, safety regulations and current software for instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to three lab courses per semester and cover labs during absences.
• Order, prepare, maintain supplies and equipment; train student workers.
• Maintain facilities and storage; manage procurement and vendor quotes.
• Coordinate onboarding and training for part-time instructors and ensure safety.
• Collaborate with faculty to ensure labs are prepared for classes and operations run smoothly.
