Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in scientific field with six or more years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Master’s degree preferred
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one
• Must hold a GHC purchasing card (credit check required)

Responsibilities

• Understand, support, and carry out the college’s mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies
• Oversee and manage daily operation of laboratory facility in a safe, clean and organized manner
• Instructs and advises lab users on proper use of lab equipment, lab safety, protocols and procedures related to conducting experiments
• Instructs Science laboratories and/or Courses as credentials allow
• Oversees scheduling of lab usage
• Develops and administers laboratory budget, oversee purchase of supplies and equipment, maintains related records
• Develops and implements laboratory policies and procedures; incorporates best practices as appropriate
• Oversees calibration and maintenance of lab equipment
• Oversees use and storage of chemicals
• Plans and directs work of staff and assess performance
• Perform other duties as assigned
