Job summary

Georgia State University Laboratory Coordinator at Perimeter College Dunwoody Campus oversees daily lab operations and instructional support. Qualifications

• Master's degree in the assigned research area or; Bachelor's degree in the assigned research area and two years of related experience.
• Combination of education and related experience.
• College teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with setting up, maintaining and using various lab equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and effectively communicate with direct supervisors.
• Master's degree in Biology is preferred.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment needed for the labs, as well as how to safely use them; safety regulations, procedures & practical; current software needed for instruction.
• Ability to lift or move equipment in the lab.
• Collegiate biology teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to three (3) laboratory courses per semester based on departmental instructional needs; provide instructional coverage for laboratory courses during temporary faculty absences; collaborate with faculty course coordinators to develop, coordinate, and maintain laboratory schedules.
• Order, prepare, and maintain laboratory supplies, materials, and equipment; recruit, train, and supervise student assistants and laboratory technicians; promote consistency across campuses.
• Maintain laboratory facilities and storage spaces; oversee storage and organization of materials and equipment; coordinate transfer of obsolete equipment to surplus.
• Coordinate procurement of laboratory supplies; obtain vendor quotations; secure approvals and maintain logs; oversee preventive maintenance; report equipment failures.
• Serve as primary point of contact for part-time instructors; onboard and train; ensure consistent delivery of laboratory instruction.
