Job summary

MediPath, LLC seeks a Senior Director of Laboratory Operations to provide senior leadership across laboratory services and drive performance, stability, and continuous improvement. You will partner with executive leadership to translate strategy into actionable operational execution.

The role includes overseeing staffing, resources, and escalation processes to ensure testing volumes and growth are effectively managed, with a focus on quality and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Master's or Doctorate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Laboratory Science, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10+ years of progressively responsible laboratory or healthcare operations experience, including leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior operational oversight across laboratory departments and applicable ancillary laboratory functions.
• Direct and hold accountable departmental directors, managers, and other operational leaders for effective management of their areas.
• Ensure laboratory operations are appropriately staffed, organized, and resourced to support testing volumes and anticipated growth.
• Identify and resolve operational risks, bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and cross-department workflow issues.
• Establish clear escalation pathways and reduce dependence on senior leadership for routine matters.
• Lead organizational development, leadership accountability, and succession planning.
• Establish, monitor, and maintain meaningful operational KPIs and management reporting.
• Promote data‑driven decision‑making and continuous improvement throughout laboratory operations.
• Partner with the General Manager and executive leadership to support strategic priorities.
• Translate organizational objectives into operational requirements and resource plans.
