Job summary

Natera is seeking a Service Engineer in California to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain laboratory instrumentation and robotics. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or life sciences and hands-on lab equipment repair experience.

You will work semi-autonomously on medium to high complexity issues, follow SOPs, and contribute to SOPs and troubleshooting documentation. The position emphasizes GDP, regulatory compliance, and effective cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Service Engineering with hands-on lab equipment repair.
  • Understanding of diagnostic laboratory workflows, instrumentation and software.
  • Strong knowledge of GDP and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills for managing multiple projects

Responsibilities

  • Semi-autonomous role.
  • Handles more complex troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Solves non-routine problems with some guidance.
  • Follows SOPs and performs task-based assignments.
  • Drafts SOPs and work instructions. Contributes to troubleshooting Wiki.
  • Expected to troubleshoot issues of medium to high complexity. Understands when to reach out for guidance.
  • Learning to analyze and interpret test data for the purpose of troubleshooting.
  • Document service tickets completely and with appropriate detail. Adhere to GDP.
  • Adhere to lab safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
