Job summary

ICF is recruiting a Laboratory Health and Safety Lead/Environmental Chemist for the USEPA ESAT contract in Corvallis, OR, with occasional travel to Hayward, CA. The role combines lab safety leadership with hands-on environmental chemistry responsibilities and supports EPA regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of demonstrated laboratory experience with 2 years in safety/regulatory work.
• At least 3 years of EPA-method based lab work in ISO 17025 accredited labs.
• Experience using EPA methods with instruments (ICP-OES/ICP-MS/GC-FID/GC-MS).
• Experience with Clinysis (Promium) Element LIMS and IQME preferred.
• U.S. citizenship and EPA background check eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain comprehensive EHS programs in line with regs.
• Perform inspections and develop training on health, safety and environment.
• Review SOPs, support audits, and document compliance for staff training.
• Manage hazardous materials/waste in coordination with EPA contractors.
• Coordinate emergency response and safety drills; support incident investigations.
