Job summary

ICF is hiring for a dual Laboratory Health and Safety Lead/Environmental Chemist to support the USEPA ESAT contract in Corvallis, Oregon. The role combines health and safety leadership with hands-on environmental chemistry, including laboratory inspections, SOP updates, and staff training.

The candidate will work on regulatory compliance across OSHA, EPA, and state requirements, perform risk assessments, and operate ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC-MS, and related instruments in an ISO-accredited lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences or related field.
• Min 6 years laboratory experience including 2 years in safety/regulatory implementation.
• 3+ years environmental lab experience using EPA methodologies and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain comprehensive EHS programs in compliance with regulations.
• Perform inspections, review SOPs, develop training, document compliance.
• Coordinate hazardous materials handling and waste management; support EPA documentation.
• Lead safety audits, JHAs, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Operate ICP-MS/ICP-OES/GC-MS and other instrumentation; support training.
