Job summary

Reading Hospital's Laboratory is seeking a detail-oriented professional to handle receipt, registration, order entry and labeling of a high volume of specimens in the appropriate computer system.

You will resolve specimen submission issues, manage calls, maintain logs, and support maintenance of instruments. This role offers tuition assistance, comprehensive benefits and strong opportunities for cross-functional collaboration within Tower Health.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills essential.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, registers, enters orders and labels a high volume of specimens in the computer system.
• Resolves specimen submission issues and ensures accuracy in patient data.
• Manages a large volume of telephone calls, filing and distribution of patient information.
• Maintains logs and scans documents into the electronic medical record.
• Operates and performs preventative maintenance on departmental instruments.
• Assists with esoteric test requests and specimen handling for procedures such as FNA and biopsy.
• Works independently to meet deadlines and ensure patient care is accurate.
