Job summary

Reading Hospital's Laboratory is seeking a detail‑oriented individual to support receipt, registration, order entry and labeling of large volumes of specimens in the appropriate computer system. You will resolve submission issues, manage patient information, and maintain logs within the electronic medical record.

The role also involves routine instrument maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and assistance with complex test requests, ensuring the highest level of accuracy to impact patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process receipt, registration, order entry and labeling of specimens in the computer system.
• Resolve specimen submission issues and maintain accurate logs.
• Handle a high volume of calls, filing and patient information distribution.
• Scan documents into the electronic medical record and perform basic instrument maintenance.
• Assist with esoteric test requests and specimen handling for procedures.
• Work independently to meet deadlines and ensure patient care accuracy.
