Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in Hillside, IL to support the laboratory manager and analysts. You will receive samples, log them in LIMS, review documentation, and coordinate shipping/receiving while assisting clients and staff.

You’ll help prepare samples, preserve materials, and maintain equipment in a high-volume lab environment. The role emphasizes data entry, reporting, and client communication, with a Monday–Friday schedule and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience in administration, data entry and customer service.
• Proficient in MS Office and able to communicate clearly.
• Able to work in a high-volume environment and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS.
• Review paperwork for incoming samples for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate shipping/receiving and logging of samples.
• Generate reports and invoices and enter data into computer systems.
• Assist clients by phone, email, and in person; interact with laboratory staff.
• Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis and maintain equipment.
