Responsibilities

• Assist with client inquiries by phone, email, or in person.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
• Support sampling and administration tasks and data entry.

EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in Phoenix, AZ. This is support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee preparing, shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS systemReview paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctnessQuality control of samples to ensure sample integrityTransfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locationsCoordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administrationGenerate reports, invoices, and enter data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client ready reportEnsure the final report is prepared and that the results are reported to the client in a timely mannerAssist with internal and external client questions via phone, e-mail, and in personAct as a liaison between clients and laboratory staffPrepare environmental samples prior to analysisSupport all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposalClean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as neededOther responsibilities as deemed necessary by the managerRequirements:High school diploma or GED equivalentAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipSome laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plusExperience in administration, data entry, and customer serviceProficient in MS OfficeExcellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clienteleAbility to work in a high volume environmentAbility to stand and sit for various lengths of timeAbility to lift up to 25lbs.Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistanceAvailable Shift:Position is full-time Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Phoenix, AZ are encouraged to apply.EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.
