Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate Attorney for its New York office. This hybrid position targets attorneys with substantial wage and hour litigation experience and a strong track record advising employers on federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.

You will handle complex matters, including class, collective, and representative actions, and negotiate employment agreements and executive compensation provisions.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing.
• 5–7 years of substantive employment law experience, with strong focus on wage and hour litigation and counseling.
• Significant experience advising employers on compliance with federal, state and local wage and hour laws.
• Experience handling complex wage and hour matters, including class, collective and representative actions in federal and state courts.
• Experience defending and prosecuting breaches of restrictive covenants.
• Experience preparing and negotiating employment agreements, including executive compensation provisions.
• Ability to leverage AI-driven and emerging technologies effectively to improve efficiency, enhance client service, and elevate the quality of legal work products.

Responsibilities

• Handle a wide range of labor and employment litigation matters, from inception through resolution.
• Advise employers on complex workplace law issues, including employee relations, compliance, and risk management.
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and executive compensation provisions.
• Represent clients in disputes involving non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
• Aptitude to apply AI driven and emerging technologies effectively to enhance efficiency, client service, and legal work product.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategic, practical solutions tailored to client needs.
