Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC's Labor & Employment Practice Group in New York seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its office. The role focuses on wage-and-hour litigation and complex employment matters for a national client base, with hybrid work arrangement.

Ideal candidate has 5–7 years of relevant experience, NY Bar, JD from top law school, and ability to leverage AI tools to enhance client service and efficiency.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing.
• 5–7 years of substantive employment law experience, strong focus on wage and hour litigation and counseling.
• Significant experience advising employers on compliance with federal, state and local wage and hour laws.
• Experience handling complex wage and hour matters, including class, collective and representative actions in federal and state courts.
• Experience defending and prosecuting breaches of restrictive covenants.
• Experience preparing and negotiating employment agreements, including executive compensation provisions.
• Ability to leverage AI-driven and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, enhance client service, and elevate the quality of legal work products.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating effectively within team-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Handle a wide range of labor and employment litigation matters, from inception through resolution.
• Advise employers on complex workplace law issues, including employee relations, compliance, and risk management.
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and executive compensation provisions.
• Represent clients in disputes involving non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
• Aptitude to apply AI driven and emerging technologies effectively to enhance efficiency, client service, and legal work product.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategic, practical solutions tailored to client needs.
