Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
• Graduated from a CAAHEP- or ABHES- accredited program.
• Completed a military surgical technology program.
• Minimum 15 hours of continuing education each year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite for procedures using data and schedules.
• Prepare surgical supplies, instruments and equipment per procedure.
• Maintain sterile/aseptic technique and infection control practices.
• Conduct sponge, sharps and instrument counts per policy.
• Prepare and restock instruments/equipment as needed.
• Ensure equipment is safe and functioning; report any unsafe conditions.
• Verify proper sterilization of instruments and packaging.
• Adhere to Infection Control and Quality Assurance policies.
• Identify and refer patient care issues to supervisors.
• Maintain reliable attendance and perform other duties as required.
