Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Scrub Assistant in obstetric services. You will set up OR trays, assist with OBS and GYN procedures, and ensure sterile supplies are available. You will also transport patients, tidy rooms, and support the nursing team under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic technique, assisting with deliveries in LDRs, and reporting equipment or supply issues to the RN. A formal OR tech training program and CST credential are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's Degree in Operating Room Technology preferred.
• Completion of accredited Operating Room Technician Training Program required.
• Must hold NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential and stay in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Set up operating room trays with instruments, sponges, sutures and dressings.
• Assist surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
• Transport patients and assist in post-partum care areas.
• Maintain aseptic technique and clean/sterilize equipment as needed.
• Report equipment or supply issues to RN.
