Job summary

White Oak Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Labor and Delivery Unit, dedicated to patient-centered care and safety. You will educate patients and families, mentor junior staff, and apply evidence-based practice to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The role requires an active Maryland nursing license, NCLEX, and 1+ year of RN experience, with night shifts, 36 hours per week, and a non-exempt status under FLSA. BLS and specialty certifications are expected as required.

Qualifications

• RN license in Maryland with NCLEX completion.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a relevant unit.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP as needed.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses.
• Demonstrate professionalism and align with ANA standards.
• Use equipment correctly and delegate non-nursing tasks.
• Develop care plans based on patient population.
• Identify and act on changes in patient condition.
• Mentor students, colleagues, and team members.
• Conduct purposeful rounds with patient/family input.
• Perform literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify improvement opportunities and participate in practice changes.
