Job summary

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Labor and Delivery Unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

The RN will educate patients and families, serve as a role model to Level I nurses, and uphold Adventist HealthCare values while delivering high-quality patient care. The position features a 36-hour work week with day shifts and weekend/holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing score on NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and support best practices.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards.
• Use equipment and technology correctly and delegate non-nursing duties.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
